Our Strength & Conditioning Coach plays a vital role in helping athletes move better, stay healthy, and perform at a high level throughout the club season. Position Overview
Apex is seeking a full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach to lead and develop performance programming for athletes across our club. This role will focus on injury prevention, movement quality, athletic performance, and long-term athlete development through volleyball-specific strength and conditioning.
We are looking for someone who understands the demands of volleyball — or is eager to learn the game and continue developing programming around volleyball mechanics, functional movement, and athlete longevity. The ideal candidate is energetic, knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about helping athletes improve both safely and effectively. Candidates interested in coaching a club team are strongly encouraged to apply and are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement volleyball-specific, six-month strength and conditioning programs for approximately 200 athletes.
Focus training around injury prevention, mobility, movement quality, and performance development.
Develop programming targeting agility, vertical jump development, speed, and overall athleticism
Emphasize unilateral strength, rotational movement patterns, and joint protection for knees, ankles, and shoulders.
Monitor athlete progression and provide individualized feedback and modifications when needed
Collaborate with directors and coaching staff to align training with athlete and team development goals.
Create a positive, high-energy, and educational training environment.
Help athletes build confidence, discipline, and healthy training habits.
Continue pursuing education and growth within strength and conditioning and volleyball performance training.
Represent Apex culture and values at all training and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or actively pursuing certification.
Experience working with youth athletes is preferred.
Understanding of functional movement, mobility, injury prevention, and athletic performance development.
Relevant coaching and/or playing experience required (collegiate experience preferred).
Strong communication, leadership, and athlete engagement skills with a positive, energetic, and growth-oriented coaching style.

Ability to pass all background checks and obtain all necessary certifications.
