26/27 Select Assistant Coach

Our Assistant Select Coaches play an important role in supporting team development by helping create organized, energetic, and positive training environments while maintaining strong communication with families throughout the season.

Position Overview

Apex is seeking engaged, dependable, and team-oriented Assistant Select Coaches to support our Select teams throughout the club season. Assistant coaches work closely with the Head Select Coach during practices to help reinforce technical instruction, support athlete development, and maintain a high-energy, competitive environment. This role also serves as a key communication contact for team families by helping manage and organize parent communication throughout the season.

Tournament travel is encouraged, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Select Coach during team practices and training sessions

• Help reinforce technical instruction, drills, and athlete development

• Create a positive, energetic, and organized practice environment

• Provide encouragement, feedback, and support to athletes throughout the season

• Lead and maintain communication with team parents regarding schedules, updates, and team information

• Communicate professionally with athletes, families, directors, and staff

• Support overall team culture, accountability, and engagement

• Collaborate with coaching staff and club leadership to support athlete and team development

• Represent Apex culture and values at all practices and events attended

Qualifications

• Volleyball playing and/or coaching experience preferred

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Positive, energetic, and engaged coaching presence

• Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff

• Passion for athlete development and team culture

• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented

• Willingness to continue learning and growing as a coach
