Master Coach (Position-Specific Training)

At Apex, we believe high-level athlete development requires intentional, detailed, and position-specific training. Our Master Coaches play a critical role in helping athletes refine advanced technical skills, increase game understanding, and develop confidence within their position.

We are seeking experienced coaches with advanced teaching ability and deep knowledge in one or more of the following positions:

• Libero / Defensive Specialist

• Middle Blocker / Hitter

• Pin Hitter

• Setter

Position Overview

Apex Master Coaches are responsible for leading specialized positional training sessions designed to elevate athlete performance and technical development. This role is ideal for coaches with high-level playing and/or coaching experience who are passionate about breaking down advanced mechanics, teaching position-specific systems, and mentoring athletes through detailed instruction and feedback.

Master Coaches should bring energy, professionalism, and strong communication skills while creating a challenging but positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead position-specific training sessions for athletes across multiple age groups and skill levels

• Teach advanced mechanics, movement patterns, decision-making, and positional IQ

• Provide detailed, individualized feedback and technical correction

• Break down skills in a clear, teachable, and progression-based format

• Collaborate with club directors and team coaches to support athlete development plans

• Mentor athletes through accountability, confidence-building, and leadership

• Create a high-energy, positive, and growth-focused training environment

• Continue pursuing coaching education and staying current with evolving training methods and techniques

• Represent Apex culture and values during all trainings and events

Qualifications

• High-level playing and/or coaching experience required

• Advanced understanding of position-specific mechanics and systems

• Strong teaching ability with attention to technical detail

• Excellent communication and athlete engagement skills

• Ability to provide clear, constructive, and individualized feedback

• Positive, energetic, and professional coaching presence

• Passion for athlete development and continued learning
